TeamLab Borderless Museum
teamLab Borderless is an art museum, located in the Palette Town area of Tokyo, Japan. We did purchase tickets in advance, but you did seem to be able to purchase them day of, and enter the museum with a group. They would let a certain amount in, at different times, so as to make sure the crowds inside were not too many. Inside the museum, there was a seperate exhibit that had a different ticket, which was a tea-drinking experience. Here, you would pick a tea of your choice from a menu, and then be seated at a long table wrapped in a black cloth. Depending on what tea you chose, a flower would then be projected on your bowl, and grow until you lifted it up to take a sip. When the bowl was put down again, a new flower would begin to bud.
We spent most of our day here, and really enjoyed all the exhibits. There was one I didn't take pictures of, that was more like a movie. You were brought into a room and would carefully walk over a rope circle, to find a spot and then lay down. The ropes you laid on were suspended above the ground, and then a light show plays around you. teamLab has a page with a video, showing what part of it is like, and I recommend checking it out. Their site also has videos of some of the other exhibits too! I've added a video of the Black Wave exhibit below, as it was one of my favorite ones to experience. The center of the room had a pile of bean bags, and people used the room to sit and relax from all the visual stimulation elsewhere in the museum. I would honestly love to have a room in my house dedicated to something like this.
