It's still early in the day, but the growl of your empty tummy has woken you up. You can hear snoring from the next room, which means if you want food, you'll probably have to wake the human up first.
[[go wake up the human]]
[[go back to sleep again]]Stretching your front paws in the hazy morning light, you decide waking up the human is probably best. Without your help, they'll probably sleep too long, and then run around the place, making Bad Sounds. Last time that happened, you almost didn't get fed!
As you make your way into where they are snoring, you can see that they seem to have lost a battle with the covers at some point. Their foot is easily reachable from the floor, or there is room to jump up and walk on them, if you choose.
[[paw at their feet]]
[[jump up and sit on them]]
[[keep watching]]The human should wake up soon anyway, no extra effort is needed on your part this time. Sleep is currently your first priority, you reason, as you sink back into your soft bed.
When you open your eyes again, it is because the noise the human uses to wake up has started, and you yawn in protest. You hear noises of a similar mood from the human as it flails to stop the noise.
[[go see if you can wake them up]]
[[stay in bed and wait]]Gently and without claws, you bop at the human's feet. You hear them stir, but not fully wake up. The foot slips up and back under the covers, now quite protected.
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]]
[[meow a few times from the floor]]You decide to take care of your morning routine first, stretching properly and doing some tidying of your own fur. The human will need some help with this when they wake up, as you can see the only fur they maintain is clumped and messy from tossing about in their sleep.
As you go about your routine, licking your paw and using it to smooth problem areas, then lifting a leg and straightening out your stomach, you hear the snoring stop, and the human shifts a bit, pulling their leg back under the blanket, becoming a big lump. After a moment, the snoring starts back up again.
[[meow a few times from the floor]]
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]] The human successfully turns off the noise, and then you hear them settle back into their blanket. After a moment, the snores start again. Apparently they're not interested in waking up yet either.
[[go back to sleep too]]
[[go see if you can wake them up]]You call to the human with a few polite meows, but the snoring continues. That blanket must be getting in the way of them hearing you.
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]]
[[meow again, but this time with feeling]]The noise wakes you up again, and the human as well. From the growls you hear them making, they do not seem happy about this. The noise stops, and you hear the sounds of the blanket again, and soon, the snoring returns.
If they had gotten up the first time it made noise, you reflect, then they wouldn't have had to hear it a second time, and neither would you. You huff in your bed in annoyance and your stomach reminds you that food would be nice to have.
[[go see if you can wake them up]]
[[keep sleeping]]The human has huddled themselves within the blanket, and the thing that makes noise is now on the floor. From experience, you know it will probably make noise again, and this will repeat a few times until the human is awake, but in a bad mood.
If you wake them up instead, then neither of you will have to deal with that noise, and that sounds like a good thing. Also, you could take the thing that makes the noise and put it somewhere else. The human seems tired, and could probably use more naps.
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]]
[[meow a few times from the floor]]
[[relocate the noise thing]]The human has mostly hidden themselves under the blanket, but you've played this game many times before. The pillow next to their face has room for you, which usually gets results. Also, you can tell where their tummy is, which makes a nice place to sit and see how long it takes them to open their eyes.
[[walk onto their stomach and MEOW]]
[[climb on to the pillow and snuggle next to their face]] You move the noise thing out into the hallway, where it will be less annoying. It really seems like the human never enjoys being woken up by it, so why keep using it?
You return to where the human is sleeping, still hidden by the blanket and snoring away.
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]]
[[meow a few times from the floor]] The human, in this chaotic manner, has left you many places to sit on. Their arm is stretched across the bed, which would make a decent pillow after it had been cleaned a little. The pillow next to their face looks quite soft, but you're not sure if you care for the snoring. Their stomach is also available, and has in the past been a good way to wake them up quickly, but not always in a good mood either.
[[lick their arm to prepare it as a pillow]]
[[climb on to the pillow and snuggle next to their face]]
[[walk onto their stomach and MEOW]]You lick the human's arm a few times, finding a particulary round spot to rest against. Unfortunately, you don't get to rest too long, as the licking has woken the human up enough that they retract their arm, and your chosen pillow, back under the blanket.
Soon the snoring starts up again, and you are left with two options: the pillow, or the stomach. We tried to do things the nice way, after all.
[[climb on to the pillow and snuggle next to their face]]
[[walk onto their stomach and MEOW]] The pillow is soft and you decide it will make a nice spot for a nap, while also letting the human know they should wake up before the noise sounds again. Also, they should feed you, so that you can eat and grab a good spot in a sunbeam for afternoon stretches.
As you settle in, the human wakes up enough to stop snoring and move out of your way a little. Not to be thwarted, you settle into a nice spot and reach out with your paw to softly touch their face.
[[touch the human's face]]
You find a nice perch on the human's stomach and give them your best friendly "Mew!", which does serve to wake them up enough to stop snoring. However, they do not open their eyes, which is, you consider, quite rude. Not to be thwarted, you settle into a nice spot and reach out with your paw to softly touch their face.
[[touch the human's face]]The human's cheek is a little wet as you tap it with your paw, and you huff in annoyance. They've drooled a little in their sleep and it's really not a good look. As you pat them, you see one eye crack open, and contact is made.
[[purr loudly to encourage them]]
[[meow your request for breakfast]]You drift back to sleep and are woken up a third time by the noise. Luckily, this time, the human sounds like they get up, and you hear the bed creak as they stumble forth.
You watch as they walk past your door, probably to relieve themselves. Why they do this into water you'll never quite understand. Soon, they stumble back the other way, and you hear the sounds of breakfast.
[[follow the human into the room of food]]
[[stay curled in bed for now]]The human blinks at you, then sighs, closing their eyes again. This time, they do not start snoring, and remain awake. The bed is warm, you can tell, and quite comfy. You've taken many naps here both with and without the human's permission.
[[keep purring, it's working]]
[[crawl up and lick their face]]The human blinks at you, then sighs, closing their eyes again. This time, they do not start snoring, and remain awake. The bed is warm, you can tell, and quite comfy. You've taken many naps here both with and without the human's permission.
[[Meow some more, it's working]]
[[crawl up and lick their face]]You wake them up enough that the human grumbles and turns in their sleep. Now they're just being stubborn, you decide, and more drastic measures will need to be taken.
[[jump on the bed where the human is hiding]]
[[meow LOUDER and REPEATEDLY]]You hop out of bed, stretch, and then follow the human down the hall, into the room of food. From the floor, you can only make out a little of their movements as they stumble about the room, picking up things and grumbling.
[[hop on to a chair to see better]]
[[stay on the floor]]The human will make a drink for themselves and also lay out food for you, then start to clean itself up. You're not really interested in dodging their clumsy feet, so you decide to wait until they go back into the room with all the water and clean themselves.
You wait until the human finishes in the food room, and walks back your way. They pause near you and reach down a hand to rub your ears.
[[purr at the human and stretch your paws]]
[[decline the offer by going to get food]]The human is good at ear rubs, and you let them take their time. They put down their drink and use both hands, giving you a nice scritch in your warm bed. You find that this is acceptable, and continue to purr in satisfaction, even as the human picks you up out of your bed.
After a little hug from the human, they pick up their drink in one hand, and carry you the rest of the way to the food room. Breakfast has been laid out, and you hop down, ready to imbibe.
As you settle in, you hear the crinkle of a treats bag, and look up, hopefully. The human drops a few treats in your food bowl, then gives you a quick pat on the head before turning and going to the water room. You eagerly eat up the treats and lick your lips happily at the unexpected bonus, before tucking into the rest of your breakfast. After this, you decide, it will be time to find a good sunbeam and let all this food digest.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴The human watches you go, and you give them a friendly lean against their leg as you excite the room. Breakfast has been served and you must not keep it waiting.
You make it to the food room and settle down before your bowl. The human has given you a nice bowl of fish pate, which is not your favorite, but it's tasty and won't bother your stomach later. You enjoy the nice meal, and decide after breakfast to seek out a good sunbeam and do your stretches.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴This should work, you think, meowing your best sounds for the human. You take careful pains to make your mews as clear and resonant as possible, serenading the sleepy human.
You sing about how warm the sunbeams are, and how there are carpets to dig your claws into, there is fresh grass to eat, and territory to defend since the neighbor's cat has started taking a route through the backyard. You tell the human how strong, how brave, and good they are, how today will be a glorious day, if only they would wake and perhaps provide a small measure of humble tuna.
You hear it before you see it, as a small pillow comes hurtling through the air towards you. You hop out of the way, and decide that this volley is an official declaration of war. The question is, do you go ignore them and let them sleep too long as punishment, or do you take the fight to them?
[[attack the stubborn lump]]
[[head back to your bed]] You keep purring, focusing on making the purrs as friendly and warm as possible. You never like waking up either, but the human always is kind about interrupting your sleep with a pat or a scritch, so here you are trying to return the kindness.
The human sighs, and then opens their blanket to invite you in. It is pretty warm in there, and you might be able to get a decent nap if the human leaves the blanket for you when they get up. Or maybe you should stay out here, if you curl up with them, they might be in bed longer and delay feeding you.
[[curl up under the blanket with them]]
[[curl up and sleep for a little bit]]You give the human several good licks right on their face, some of your best work really. They're not pleased and reach their hands up to try to keep you from continuing. When you just lick their hands instead, the human grumbles and tries to pull the blanket higher to hide under, but you're heavy enough to make this difficult.
The human notices this as well, and moves you off of them with a small roll of their shoulders. Displaced and a little annoyed, you take a spot a little farther away on the bed, putting yourself in perfect glaring position.
[[glare at the human to show your disdain]]
[[ignore the human and take a nap]]You meow again, insisting that it's either you or the alarm clock, and at least you've got soft ears to pet. The human grumbles and tries to pull the blanket higher to hide under, but you're heavy enough to make this difficult.
The human notices this as well, and moves you off of them with a small roll of their shoulders. Displaced and a little annoyed, you take a spot a little farther away on the bed, putting yourself in perfect glaring position.
[[glare at the human to show your disdain]]
[[ignore the human and take a nap]]Your view is much improved from here, and the human doesn't seem to mind. You contemplate going further and hopping on the table, but the last time you tried that, the human waved their arms, and forgot to feed you breakfast until much later.
You sniff the air as the human goes about the room, picking up things and grumbling. They add things to a machine, that then starts to hiss and make noises, and then out comes a dark water that the human takes a sip of. Rubbing their eyes, they start to leave the room of food.
[[meow from the chair]]
[[watch them leave the room]]The floor is alright for now, as you watch the human go about their routine, as you remain careful not to be underfoot. Sniffing the air, you notice when the human starts to make their morning drink, a dark kind of water that you don't care for yourself.
Once their drink is finished, the human rubs their eyes and takes a long sip, then starts to leave the room of food. They've obviously forgot to feed you!
From your perspective on the floor, you could easily step in front of them to herd them back towards your bowl.
[[step in front of the human and meow loudly]]
[[quietly follow them down the hall]]You meow politely from your perch on the chair, and the human sees you. Going for cute, you tuck your paws in and meow again, making sure to look right at them!
The human chuckles, patting you on the head and putting down their drink. Then, they change course and open the place where your food is kept. You hear the sound of the can open, and hop down to wait next to the food.
A new bowl of fresh fish pate is put down in front of you, and it smells declicious. You settle in to eat, purring loudly. You have a decently trained human, and maybe a nice nap next to them later would be the proper way to reward them.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴You watch as the human leaves the room, and then follow behind them. They carry their drink with them into the room of water, and set it down near where they wash. It looks like they plan to wash first, and then feed you after, but your stomach reminds you that you're hungry now.
[[meow at the human to get their attention]]
[[nudge their drink a little]]You easily jump in front of the human, causing them to stumble to a halt. They cough, and spill a little of their drink, then look down. They don't seem happy, but that's not your fault. Some humans aren't very well trained, and sometimes yours is like that.
You meow again and walk over to where the food usually sits. You hear as your human grumbles a little, but they do walk over to where your food is stored. You hear the sound of a can opening, and then a plop as the food is dumped into your bowl. You sniff at it, and decide it's decent to eat. This isn't really the best food the human's given you, but you're hungry, so it's time for breakfast.
Besides, if you don't feel good later, you can always leave the bits your stomach doesn't want, inside the human's shoes.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴The human pads quietly down the hall, sipping from their drink. You follow them as they make their way to the room of water and set the drink down next to where they usually wash.
Your stomach grows, reminding you if you don't speak up and remind the human, you'll be waiting until this whole washing procedure is done with.
Before they get into the water, you decide to remind them who is boss.
[[meow at the human to get their attention]]
[[nudge their drink a little]]You meow at the human, and they pause in taking off their coverings, seeing you on the floor. You meow again, louder, hoping to make your point known. The human, not getting the idea, leans down and pats you on the head, before continuing to get ready to wash.
[[nudge their drink a little]]
[[try to rub against the human's legs]]You walk over and bop the drink with your paw, enough to make it wobble, but not fall. The human yells, and picks you up, depositing you outside the room of water, then shutting the door. You feel very annoyed to have to go through all this trouble for a simple request.
[[meow at the door]]
[[meow and SCRATCH at the door]]You meow at the door, expressing plainly your frustration and annoyance at this whole situation. All you want is some food, and really, they feed you every morning, this shouldn't be so difficult to understand!
After a few moments, the door opens, and the human stomps out, wrapped in a cloth and already a little wet with water. You dodge the droplets and their feet easily, and watch as they make their way to the food room. Soon, the sound of the can opening reaches your ears and you scamper to eat.
Your food is laid out, and the pate the human has given you is not your favorite, but it's tasty enough. You settle in to eat, and decide that maybe after a nap, you'll look for a way to remind the human who is in charge around here.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴You meow and scratch at the door, letting the human know just how hungry you are! It is BREAKFAST TIME and you would feed yourself if you could. The human won't let you go outside to hunt, and they take away any mice you catch, so they are Required to feed you when needed.
You hear the human yell, and then the door is pulled open, and the human stomps down the hallway, dripping water. You follow behind them, and watch from under the table as they fumble for your food.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴You try a more friendly approach, as sometimes being cute helps. You rub against the human's legs and purr, twisting between their ankles. The human seems to agree that this is cute, and reaches down to rub your ears again.
[[paw at the human's hand]]
[[Meow loudly as they rub your ears]]You paw at the human's hand, using just a little of claw to get your point across. You're hungry and it's time to have breakfast!
The human yells, and picks you up, depositing you outside the room of water, then shutting the door. You feel very annoyed to have to go through all this trouble for a simple request.
[[meow at the door]]
[[meow and SCRATCH at the door]]The human seems to get the point and looks down the hallway to the food room. They murmer some noises, and then take a cloth from the wall, before wrapping it around them. They head to the food room, and you hear the sound of a can opening!
Excited and eager for food, you hustle down the hallway, passing the human on their way back to the water room. Your food has been laid out, a tasty pate of fish and chicken, with some extra treats on the side!
The human has done well, and all is forgiven, you decide. Now, time to eat, and then see if there is a warm place to take a nice cosy nap.
龴ↀ◡ↀ龴Your human has tried to burrow under their blanket, but your glare can pierce through walls and shame kings. You fix your most stalwart expression and glare, unrelenting, at where you know the human is hiding under their covers.
After a moment, you hear a sigh, and the human throws back the covers. You have to scramble away to avoid being caught under them, and jump down from the bed, waiting as the human stands up, rubs their face and leaves the sleep room.
You follow the human down the hall, into the room of food. From the floor, you can only make out a little of their movements as they stumble about the room, picking up things and grumbling.
[[hop on to a chair to see better]]
[[stay on the floor]]You've done your best to help the human, and get them out of bed. If they don't want your help, that's fine. You'll nap here and wait for them to feed you.
[[curl up and sleep for a little bit]]The bed is cosy and the human's not interested in waking up, so neither are you. That noise thing may fuss at you both soon, but for now it's all warmth and lazy thoughts.
The noise thing DOES go off after a few minutes, not much time at all. The human fusses, reaching blindly for the source, which falls to the ground, continuing to screech. The human struggles out of their covers, and retrieves the noise maker, turning it off and setting it next to the bed. They sit there for a moment, before rubbing their eyes and getting to their feet.
Now that they're up, you think, might as well get breakfast. You follow the human down the hall, into the room of food. From the floor, you can only make out a little of their movements as they stumble about the room, picking up things and grumbling.
[[hop on to a chair to see better]]
[[stay on the floor]]You slowly creep under the blanket with the human and curl up next to them. Here under the blanket, it is only warm, safe, and dark. The perfect place for sleeping. You and the human both seem to agree that it's still early and it would be a crime to waste this nice warm spot.
[[settle in for a small nap]]You drift off to sleep, curled next to the human and soothed by the sound of their breathing. Warm and cosy, these thoughts compete with your growling tummy, and slowly drown it out.

[[hop on to a chair to see better]]
[[stay on the floor]]You jump onto the bed and resolutely decide to assend Lump Mountain. This has gone on long enough, and you did try to be nice, waking them up with encouragement and praise.
The lump moves as if to shake you off, but you are ready for this, and attach yourself to the blanket with your steady claws. These are a hunter's claws, and today your prey is this stubborn sleepy giant.
Following the call of your ancestors, you pounce as the human's movements under the blanket create easy targets. From the muffled sounds the human is making, they are aware of your displeasure. With one well-aimed strike, you feel your claws sink in, and the human flips the covers up to glare at you.
[[glare at the human to show your disdain]] If the human doesn't want your help, so be it. Your bed is still warm, and although you're still hungry, things have become a matter of pride. Your role in this partnership should not be taken lightly, and you'd rather amuse yourself with further naps than be insulted with further pillows.
Curling into bed, you snooze gently, keeping one ear cocked for when the human decides to get out of bed.
[[go back to sleep again]]
